Ajon Moriyama joined Moriyama & Teshima in 1989. He has been involved in the design of numerous award-winning projects and design competitions: the Saudi Arabian National Museum in Riyadh, River Run Centre in Guelph, and the Bank of Montreal Institute for Learning in Toronto. Recent projects that Ajon was in charge of include the McMaster University Cente and renovations to the Toronto Reference Library, one of Toronto's landmark buildings designed by the firm in the 1970's.

Ajon took primary responsibility for the Canadian Embassy Staff Residences and Fitness Facilities in Tokyo. For the Embassy's official opening, Ajon was invited to design an exhibition of Moriyama & Teshima's favourite projects. The exhibition, which features a series of finely-crafted sculptural models, has travelled to a number of cities around the world.

Before graduating from Carleton University with a Bachelor of Architecture degree, Ajon worked in Tokyo for innovative architect Arata Isozaki. He is a Member of the Ontario Association of Architects and the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada.

Ajon is a LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Accredited Professional. The LEED Green Building Rating System is a voluntary, consensus-based national standard for developing high-performance, sustainable buildings.
