Chemical Plaza

Chemical Plaza (10 South LaSalle), in Chicago, Illinois incorporates the four-storey granite and terra cotta facade of the existing Otis Building (circa 1910), its basement, and caissons. The client had not realized such a solution was possible. The result: a $10 million saving. The new structure is fireproofed steel. Exterior curtain wall expression is coloured aluminum panels articulating the structure and defining panels of reflective glass.

The ground floor of the new 37-storey office building accommodates a bank, retail space, and restaurant. Upper floors house financial, corporate, and professional offices. Typical floor area is 2,136 SM (23,000 SF). Total site area is 2,500 SM (27,000 SF).
