Carol Phillips graduated from the University of Waterloo School of Architecture in 1992. Her design talent and rigorous commitment are complimented by sixteen years of professional expertise. Carol has distinguished herself since joining Moriyama & Teshima in 2005, and she was named an Associate in 2006. Her first completed project in the role of Project Architect at Moriyama & Teshima won six design awards including the inaugural OAA People's Choice Award. With experience that spans all phases of a project from programming and conceptual design, through site supervision and public presentations, Carol has acted in a variety of roles, applying her design, technical and leadership skills to a number of cultural projects. These include the University of Toronto Multifaith Centre, Guelph Civic Centre, ONE-NBM Museum Competition, Hillfield Strathallan Secondary School and Althletic Complex, Victoria University's Goldring Student Centre and the Meewasin Valley Interpretative Centre. Carol's expertise covers a range of building types, including educational buildings, state-of-the-art cinemas, aquatic centres, gymnasia, museums, faith spaces and community centres. An excellent communicator, Carol has worked with multi-faceted client groups and has participated in several successful joint venture projects. She is a committed mentor who lectures and participates regularly on jury panels for various University Architectural programmes. Carol is an inspired team leader who is particularly skilled in building consensus and creating harmonious dedication to an architectural vision. |
