M.Arch., BSc(CE), OAA, FRAIC
Since 1986 Daniel Teramura has been responsible for designing many of Moriyama & Teshima's most high-profile projects: the Durham Region YMCA, River Run Centre in Guelph, headquarters for the municipality of Ottawa Carleton, and York University's Vari Hall. He was also co-designer of the widely published Saudi Arabian National Museum, working together with partners Ajon and Jason Moriyama. More recent projects include the Durham YMCA and the TEL Centre. Previously he worked for six years with the influential Modernist architect Peter Hemingway in Edmonton. Daniel has been named a Fellow of the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada in recognition of his achievements in architectural design. But equally important is his sensitivity to the people who use his buildings. Several years after the completion of Vari Hall, Daniel was co-author of a study published in the Canadian Journal of Urban Research on how the building participates in daily campus life. Daniel has a Master of Architecture degree as well as a Bachelor of Science (Engineering) degree from the University of Manitoba. He is a Member of the Ontario Association of Architects, APPA (Association of Higher Education Facilities Officers), and EDRA (Environmental Design Research Association). |
