Located in the Don Valley ravine, the building integrates seamlessly with the natural landscape, providing views of the nature, flora and fauna that exist alongside science and technology.
The project was a commission from Ontario Premiere John Robarts to celebrate Canada's 100th birthday. When the building opened in 1969, the idea of an interactive museum was revolutionary, eventually paving the way for future institutions that would embrace experiential learning.
