The centre exists in a remote area that sits outside campus, next to the beautiful Guelph Arboretum. Given the site's history as a tree nursery, the new landscape required healing through preservation of existing trees, consideration of the unique topography, and responding to the surrounding woodlands and wetlands. With recognition that a building has impacts beyond its site boundaries, the project implements Low Impact Development principles to advocate for a more sustainable path forward.
