Profile

Olivia Keung has over 15 years of professional experience focused on advancing a regenerative, low carbon future. As Director of Sustainability at Moriyama Teshima, she works across project teams to develop a comprehensive sustainability vision that advances decarbonization, biodiversity restoration, resource efficiency, and social impact, through meaningful engagement with clients and project collaborators. She is the Project Architect on several cultural and community projects at MTA, all targeting zero carbon performance, including the Simcoe County Museum, the Royal Military College Museum, and the Science North Expansion, two science centres in Northern Ontario that use education to foster knowledge, community resilience and cultural dialogue. She also played a key role on the Limberlost Place, a landmark tall mass timber building at George Brown Polytechnic, coordinating the extensive regulatory sustainability requirements for the first building to target Tier 4 of the Toronto Green Standard. She was the Project Manager for Waterfront Toronto’s update of their Green Building Requirements (GBRs). MTA led the consultant team to develop and author the Version 3 update which takes a holistic approach to sustainability, as part of a broader vision for inclusive and resilient urban communities.

Beyond practice, Olivia serves as Sustainability Advisor on the City of Toronto’s Design Review Panel, shaping policy frameworks that define current best practice in green urbanism. She is the past Co-Chair of the RAIC’s Advisory Committee on Equity and Justice, and served as their liaison to the Committee on Regenerative Environments. She is a frequent speaker on low carbon design, including lectures at the CaGBC’s Innovation Series, the RAIC's Congress on Architecture, and the University of Toronto.
